my work
Everyone seems to think that having a portfolio is vital nowadays, so I reluctantly added one. The problem is that I seldom contribute to any projects that are popular or notable. I find that they are rarely as rewarding as working on smaller passion projects. Most notable projects I participated in were relevant a long time ago and are now long dead. Take this non-exhaustive list with a grain of salt; most of these projects are ancient memories now. If you would like to work with me, I'd highly recommend scheduling a 30-minute call instead.
Minecraft
NeruxVace
NeruxVace, a German mini-games network with a few thousand players at peak hours, was the most successful project I contributed to. Some notable mini-games were their flagship BedWars game with a large competitive community and PServer, which allowed players to create their own SMPs with a set of premade plugins, fostering an ecosystem of custom gamemodes. I joined NeruxVace in 2020 and was promoted to lead developer some time in 2021. I was tasked with updating all core systems from Minecraft 1.8 to Minecraft 1.16. The update was ultimately dropped due to some bad management decisions. At that point, I left to join JustChunks, which I found far more interesting.
JustChunks
JustChunks is still around and remains one of my favorite Minecraft projects. This project was in development for almost a decade and was released only in 2022. The staff members were some of the most capable people I've ever met and have an undying motivation to continue working on their project, regardless of popularity. Caring more about enjoying yourself while creating than becoming popular is something I believe in to this day. I joined JustChunks the day I left NeruxVace in 2021 and left JustChunks some time around 2023 because of work obligations.
WestSurvival
I don't really remember much about WestSurvival. I only remember that the server didn't last long because of bad ownership decisions. Nevertheless, the server itself was still pretty popular, and my work wasn't bad either, so I figured it was worth being mentioned.
ClassicSurvival
I kind of accidentally slipped into a technical management position at ClassicSurvival when the server was revived. ClassicSurvival was very popular a few years ago, and the owners decided to bring it back. A few friends of mine used to play it, and when I heard about the release, I offered my assistance. The server lasted until the end of 2024, after the gameplay manager left and the owners lost interest. I joined ClassicSurvival shortly before the 2023 release and never really left, since people still ask me about the server files.
